Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl (for marinade)
  • 1 Medium Bowl (for dredging flour)
  • 1 Waffle Maker
  • 1 Deep Skillet or Dutch Oven (for frying)
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 Wire Rack or Paper Towels
  • 1 Measuring Cup and Spoons
  • 1 Small Saucepan (for honey drizzle)

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken Thighs Bone-in Skin On (if you prefer, boneless will be fine)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Hot Sauce (optional, but highly encouraged)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • ½ tsp Cayenne (optional)
  • 4 tbsp Cannabutter (melted used to brush chicken right after frying)
  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • 1 ¾ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ¾ cup Milk
  • ½ cup Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tsp THC-infused Coconut Oil or Infused Honey
  • 1 Pinch Chili Flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken
Place the 4 Chicken Thighs in a bowl and pour over the 1 cup Buttermilk, 1 tsp Salt, ½ tsp Black Pepper, and 1 tsp Hot Sauce. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight for max flavor).
  • Dredge and Fry
In another bowl, mix 1 cup All-purpose Flour, ½ cup Cornstarch, 1 tsp Garlic Powder, 1 tsp Smoked Paprika, and ½ tsp Cayenne.
Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture until well-coated. For extra crunch, press it in, dip back into buttermilk, then dredge again.
Heat Vegetable Oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken 6–8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F). Place on a wire rack to drain.
  • Brushing with Magic
While hot, brush with melted 4 tbsp Cannabutter. That’s where the magic happens.
  • Make the Waffles
    Preheat your waffle iron.
In a bowl, whisk together the 1 ¾ cup All-purpose Flour, 2 tbsp Sugar, 1 tbsp Baking Powder, and ½ tsp Salt.
In another bowl, beat the 2 Eggs, 1 ¾ cup Milk, ½ cup Melted butter, and 1 tsp Vanilla Extract. Combine wet and dry ingredients just until smooth.
Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions—until golden and crisp on the edges.
  • Make the Infused Honey Drizzle
In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the ¼ cup Honey with the 2 tsp THC-infused Coconut Oil or Infused Honey. Add a pinch of 1 Pinch Chili Flakes and 1 tsp Lemon Juice if you like a little zing. Stir gently until fully combined and warmed through.
  • Plate It Up
Stack a warm waffle, top with crispy cannabutter-brushed chicken, and drizzle with the infused honey. Add a few fresh herbs, pickles, or dust with powdered sugar if you’re feeling fancy.
Sit down. Take a bite. Let the crunch, sweetness, and melt-in-your-mouth bliss take over.

Notes

Cannabutter Dosing– For beginner-friendly servings, aim for 5mg THC per piece of chicken and 2–3mg in the honey drizzle.
Want it Spicy?– Add hot sauce to your waffle batter or drizzle on top.
No Waffle Iron?– Use frozen waffles in a pinch—but homemade is worth it.
This is more than just comfort food—it’s an experience. Crunchy, juicy, buttery, and kissed with sweetness, this fried chicken and waffles recipe brings the high and the flavor. Perfect for sharing... or keeping all to yourself.
