Instructions
Build the BaseIn a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine ¾ cup tomato paste, ½ cup apple cider vinegar, ⅓ cup water, and ¼ cup bourbon. Stir to create a smooth base.
Add the FlavourMix in 2 tbsp molasses, 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp yellow mustard, 1 ½ tsp garlic powder, 1 ½ tsp onion powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, ½ tsp kosher salt, and ½ tsp ground black pepper. Stir well.
Simmer GentlyBring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the alcohol to evaporate and the sauce to thicken.
Finish the SauceRemove the saucepan from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes, then stir in 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice and ¼ cup THC-infused maple syrup. This protects the THC from degrading due to high heat.
Smooth it Out (Optional)Use an immersion blender to create a velvety texture, especially if using it for dipping or basting delicate cuts.
Bottle and StoreTransfer to airtight jars or bottles using a funnel. Let cool completely before sealing. Store in the refrigerator.Storage: Keeps in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. Shake or stir before use.
