Curaleaf International Brings Free Medical Cannabis Training to Poland

Curaleaf International announced the launch of its Curaleaf Education Platform in Poland on October 8, 2026, giving healthcare professionals across the country free access to structured clinical training in medical cannabis.
The platform is available at curaleafeducation.com. Its curriculum spans foundational science, core clinical knowledge and specialist therapeutic areas, with a syllabus tailored to the distinct roles of family doctors, consultant-level clinicians and pharmacists working within the regulated prescribing framework in Poland.
Medical cannabis has been legal in Poland since 2017. According to the company, approximately 250,000 patients in Poland are prescribed the medicine, yet formal education on the endocannabinoid system and cannabis-based medicines remains limited within mainstream medical training. As patient awareness grows, clinicians are increasingly encountering questions about medical cannabis without access to structured learning resources to support informed, confident conversations and clinical guidelines.
Five-Course Syllabus and Advisory Review
The courses have been reviewed by the Curaleaf Advisory Board, a body made up of international consultants, which the company said ensures all material is verified, grounded in current evidence and aligned with local prescribing frameworks. The syllabus is structured across five courses.
Foundations of Medical Cannabis covers the science of phytocannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system. Core Knowledge for Clinical Practice addresses products and formulations, safety profile and risk management, and prescribing and clinical management. Specialist Conditions: Evidence and Application includes dedicated modules on pain, neurology and psychiatry. The pain module covers chronic pain, endometriosis, rheumatology and palliative care. The neurology module covers Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, MS and insomnia. The psychiatry module covers anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD and ASD.
The company stated that the content draws on global research as well as Curaleaf’s real-world evidence database. It described the UK Medical Cannabis Registry as the largest clinical database of its kind in Europe, with over 55,000 patients, and said that over 40 peer-reviewed publications translate this evidence into practical guidance for everyday clinical decision-making and that real-world evidence supports safe and informed prescribing.
Dr Paweł Dryżałowski, a medical doctor and founder of Curaleaf Centrum Medyczne in Poland, said cannabis-based medicine in the country operates within a clearly defined legal and regulatory framework, but that in practice levels of knowledge, experience and confidence in managing treatment may still vary among physicians, consultants and pharmacists.
“In 2020, I founded one of the first clinics in Poland to manage patients using cannabis-based medicines (CBM), and since then I have seen how important it is for all professionals involved to work from a shared knowledge base in order to ensure a smooth and safe patient pathway,” Dryżałowski said. “The Curaleaf Education Platform aims to provide healthcare professionals across Poland with a consistent standard of knowledge, regardless of their role in patient care.”
Dr Mikael Sodergren, chief medical officer at Curaleaf International, added: “Education is fundamental to providing patients with the highest standard of care and access to medical cannabis. As part of our commitment to research, innovation and product excellence, we are proud to bring this resource to healthcare professionals in Poland. The clear, evidence-led modules give clinicians the confidence to integrate medical cannabis into their practice responsibly.”
Prior UK Launch
The platform is now live in Poland alongside the UK, according to the announcement, which described the expansion as part of the company’s wider commitment to advancing responsible medical cannabis education across Europe.
Curaleaf International first launched the Curaleaf Education Platform on June 23, 2026, for healthcare professionals across the UK. The UK version provides CPD-accredited medical cannabis training programmes with free registration, and on completion users are awarded CPD accreditation, progressing from Basic to Advanced, with learning recognised retrospectively to support ongoing professional development.
In the UK announcement, the company stated that medical cannabis has been legal in the UK since 2018 and that more than 60,000 UK patients access it on prescription. The UK syllabus is structured across three core areas: beginner-level CPD in the foundations of medical cannabis, intermediate-level CPD in core clinical knowledge, and advanced-level CPD covering specialist-condition modules on pain, neurology and psychiatry.
The UK release also stated that healthcare professionals do not require any affiliation with a Curaleaf entity to access the platform, which it said is open to all regulated clinicians who support patients with cannabis-based medicinal products and provides evidence-based education and structured clinical guidance to support safe and informed decision-making.
At the UK launch, Curaleaf International said the platform would continue to roll out across further international markets as part of its wider global commitment to advancing responsible medical cannabis education.
